Birch wood is usually underestimated as a firewood, even though birch is one of the most useful firewood types for smaller stoves, fireplaces and built-in fires. Birch wood has a very clean deflagration and uses little oxygen, which prevents pollution of your stove and flue. Starting a fire in your stove with birch wood is also very easy to do. Ovendried birch wood has a nice white bark that catches fire easily and does not spatter. Do you have an open fireplace then that makes you feel safe!
